I have played the piano for over twenty five years and completed my graded examinations from an early age. I then went on to gain my piano teaching diploma with the London College of Music. After studying at the University of Bradford I decided that teaching piano would become my vocation, and it is something that I have enjoyed for many years now.
I have a patient and encouraging approach to teaching, and appreciate that each student learns in a different way and at a different pace. I believe that everybody is capable of learning to play the piano and enjoying it.
I often compose original pieces of music to meet the needs of my students, as well as rearranging popular songs to their level and ability at that particular time. I also teach theory of music in order to develop a wider and deeper understanding of written music, and am a member of the Musicians’ Union.
